What 10 things can i do now to have a better life – quora electricity sound effect

Social media tends to drive people crazy. Constantly scrolling down your feed, forever checking how many likes your post received, getting jealous when you see someone having a better life than you. It’s toxic. Focus on your own life, and avoid caring about what other people are up to. You will be much happier this way.

Try to sleep at least 8–9 hours every day, at the same time. Your body will become a clock if you do this, and you’ll find your day to be more productive. In addition to that, avoid going on your phone before you sleep. The light that radiates from the screen can really affect a good night’s sleep.

I know, cliché right? But I mean it. Eat well, avoid junk food as much as you can. If you love fizzy drinks, try flavoured sparkling water as an alternative. If you love chocolate, try eating sweet fruit like bananas or melons. Drink green tea instead of regular tea. Love pizza? Make your own home made pizza with healthy toppings. Honestly, it’s not that hard once you get started 🙂

• So what makes you wake up early? Imagine, you have visited some place and want to visit a temple or some place to see sunrise. Next day, you had booked/planned to visit another city. So, you have no choice. In that situation, you would definitely wake up early to visit that temple/ place to embrace sunrise.

• A goal and desire to achieve when you don’t have any other choice makes you wake up. Put yourself a goal and ensure you don’t have any other choice to do in a day, it could be pursuing your hobby, hitting gym which you like to do, writing/reading etc.., which you couldn’t spend time on it due to your tight work/day schedule. This ensures and helps you to wake up early. Remember, 21 days rule. Your brain and body needs at least 21 days to get habituated and transform into a habit of waking up Early.

• Taking the first step is always difficult to do. So, you can follow these steps. If you waking up daily at 7 AM, from next day try waking up at 6.50 AM sharp for a week. When you are used to 6.50 AM, try for 6.30 AM for next week. Similarly, do for next few weeks by reducing 10 mins, until you reach waking up at 5 AM.

• Develop a new hobby: After your long day at work/college, imagine yourself back to home, eat, sleep, get up and back to work again. Isn’t it vexing you? Life sucks when you just spend your day just like another day in life. “Don’t live the same day 365 times and call it a life.”. Life is short and amazing.

• Develop a nature to pursue a new hobby. It can add make you day amazing and exciting. There are many hobbies/habits you can pursue like Music, Dance, Outdoor sports, Physical fitness, Playing instruments (guitar, piano, tabla etc..,), Reading and Writing. You don’t know what it makes you in life, until you try.

• Be Physically Fit: Health is wealth! Your health should be your most priority. Being physically fit doesn’t have to be building muscles and six pack body. It is just being healthy. Develop a habit of doing any physical exercise daily. It can be hitting gym, swimming, jogging, simple walking, playing outdoor sport for 1 hour.

• Spend time with Family: Whatever efforts and time you are putting to earn is for yourself and your family. All the savings and earnings would go waste if don’t spend enough and quality time with your parents, wife/husband, kids, friends and relatives.

• What would you do, if you don’t have anyone to share your emotions, money and time? There will be no meaning to those. In fact, your top most priority should be your family than work and money. Remember, you can change your work and get new work with time, but you won’t get new family once you lose your precious time to spend with them.

• Utilize your valuable time by knowing and setting your priorities. Know your important things, goals. Don’t waste your time on smartphone, unwanted mobile apps and scrolling through stupid trolls, feeds and updates. If you really want some social life through those, you can scroll or check updates during your breakfast/dinner time. In that way, you can intake food slowly which helps digest and you will be socially active as well.

1. Make Lists – Be it a ‘To Do’ list, ‘To Buy’ list, or even a ‘Honey, do’ list, writing down what needs to be done provokes you to actually get it done. Physically writing the list (or typing if you are tech savvy), implants the idea that activity is not an option. It is a proactive start to the rest of your life.

2. Make Your Bed – Making your bed every morning starts your day with with a small routine. This routine puts your mind into ‘go mode.’ Once in ‘go mode’ you have the rest of the day to function at your highest caliber. Who needs coffee anymore? Okay, maybe make your bed then get your morning coffee? 🙂

3. Ask Questions – Asking a question is always a nerve wracking experience. They say there is no such thing as a dumb question, but that doesn’t stop people from thinking you are forgetful, not paying attention, or, I hate to say it, dumb. Putting yourself out there takes nerve. But the more you ask questions, the more you’ll learn. Picking the brains of your social network will expand your understanding exponentially.

Not to mention, your family consists of many different people who have a variety of stories, knowledge, backgrounds, and perspectives. Many different people who you can use as resources. Many different people who all have your best interest at heart.

5. Go For A Walk – There is nothing better than some fresh air. It does a body good. One of the underlying benefits is the effect on your psyche—it lowers stress levels and releases endorphins. You could go to the nearest trail or you could just go to the end of the block. It doesn’t matter. Just get out there.

6. Add Something Healthy to Your Diet – Many fad diets are all about cutting out—cutting out sugars, cutting out carbs, cutting out happiness? Instead of depriving yourself of something, try adding an extra helping of fruits or veggies. Making a healthy choice will always make you feel better in the long run—physically and mentally.

7. Sign Up For Something – You could sign up for anything—a community service project, a sports team, a race, a class, etc. Whatever it is, it will add to your life. It will add purpose. It will add structure. It will add productivity. Motivation. Wonder. Fun. Comradery. I know putting yourself out there is not always the easiest, but you will meet many new people and learn new skills. Try it. You won’t be sorry.

8. Laugh – This is not always natural. But fake it until you make it. Laugh even when you don’t really feel like it. That action of laughing causes a change in the brain. It creates a positive spin. If you keep yourself laughing, then eventually it will be real. Smile. Laugh. Enjoy life.

9. Reflect Often – It is important to reflect on your day. If you do not reflect, then you do not have the self awareness to make educated decisions. You know more than you think you do, you just need to reflect in order to learn from your experiences. If not, then you will keep moving aimlessly though life. Think about what went well and what went poorly. Think about how you can recreate your greatness and avoid repeating mistakes.

10. Write Thank You’s – It seems kind of weird, but expressing gratitude can significantly affect your level of happiness. It is a beautiful thing. It really is a win-win. Your thank you’s do not only have to be for Christmas gifts or graduation presents, but instead for actions they have done—maybe made you smile or made you feel welcome—or the impact they have had on your life.
