This tour company is fantastic and our guide, Charlie (Kavai, I’m not sure how to spell his actual Hawaiian name:) but he said call him Charlie) was wonderful! We truly enjoyed spending the day with him, he made us feel like family. He was so knowledgeable about the island and he actually genuinely CARED to give us a great tour and a great day. This company takes you past Hana (a lot of people just go down the road to Hana and back down the same road), the road is very dangerous so don’t drive it yourself – let these experts take you safely around the island so you can enjoy the scenery! You will see things electricity origin you won’t see anywhere else! Another great thing about Charlie and this company is that they stop many many times, get everyone off the bus and show you things and teach you about the island instead of just driving by (we saw other tour buses just driving by waterfalls/etc. and people were electricity 2014 taking pictures out of the window and we felt so lucky that we chose Mahalo) Charlie took the time at every stop to take pictures of us so we could actually be in our own photos together. They will give you snacks (fresh fruit and bread) and drinks throughout the tour. You will stop for a great lunch, get the huli huli chicken, (Charlie recommended it) it was delicious!! Thank you Charlie and thank you Mahalo tours!!! Our Road to Hana tour is something we will never forget!!! More Show less

This could have been an awesome experience and because of our self absorbed driver it ended up being very average. We had a local man, 25 years old, who, to hear him tell it there is nothing he cannot do or has not done. He had a fabulous grasp of the culture but the entire trip was about him and his life. The 8 of us on this trip were all photo buffs and were looking electricity facts label forward to a lot of great pictures. He passed up multiple great photo ops because he said they were nothing but tourist traps. We found out later that was not true. We only had 2 stops to get some good pictures (there were other stops but not good for photos). To top it all off we missed the wine stop because he dawdled at 2 other stops where no one had much interest and he blamed it on road construction. After leaving Hana there was a beautiful scenic drive to the wine stop but instead of planning the trip well he drove like a nascar driver to try to get there before it closed. Not only did we not make it but we missed some great scenery and photo ops. Very disappointing.

We are very sorry that you found our tour to be very disappointing”. We strive to be exceptional and are always disheartened to hear that we have not met or exceeded our goal. That being said, we would gas under a dollar be happy to respond to some of the points that you made in your review. You mentioned that we passed up several stops. Your tour guide made all the scheduled authorized stops verified by the vehicle’ GPS report. The only exceptions being Oheo Gulch as it is currently closed for safety reasons by the National Park Service and the winery, which was missed due to the construction on the road. There has been an inordinate amount of road construction this past 6 months and this will continue as there is only one road in and out of Hana and each year the traffic increases. For safety purposes, we must be patient and do our best to give the best tour possible under the circumstances. Please note that the Road to Hana has locations that do not allow commercial vehicles, are on private property, or have had access restricted by the DNLR. There are multiple reasons why the tour may not stop at a certain location along the way. Nonetheless year 6 electricity worksheets, we made many, many stops (our tour is known for making the most stops). We are very sorry that you felt only two locations were worthy of photos. You did mention that you felt our driver (Makana) was inaccurate in advising you that we would not stop at certain locations due to the fact that they were tourist traps. We stand by this statement and these locations static electricity definition science are not included in our tour as we do our very best to stop at locations that help showcase our local communities in an authentic manner. You indicated that your driver drove like a NASCAR driver. The vehicle’s GPS indicated that he did speed, but a mere 5-10 miles above the posted speed limit (on straight paved road) as he was trying to make up the time lost waiting for the road construction and make it to the winery before closing. Lastly, your driver (Makana) is our most requested and highly reviewed driver. We are very sorry that you did not agree with the hundreds of other passengers who enjoyed him immensely.
